I always thought air was just air. Hot, cold, warm...whatever, it's all doing the same thing, right? Well, I'm happy to be wrong! I've got a lot of very long hair that isn't very thick, but still likes to do its own thing. I saw an instant difference the first time using this dryer. The ends of my hair no longer look gross and dry as they used to with my old dryer. The texture is very healthy, sleek and smooth, and, like another reviewer mentioned, this effect seems to last into day 2! I'm not sure how has this impact, but usually I have to wash every day if I want to look decent, but now I can skip a day. This will also help with the health of my hair. Oh, and can someone explain how the air gets so cold? It is like there's a little a/c unit in this thing. Great for 'setting' your style. Now, I can't wait to try the diffuser to see what kind of waves it creates. My only regret is not splurging on this sooner. Highly recommended!!

Great hairdryer at a great price! If you need fast-drying action for thick/wavy/hard-to-straighten hair, this is the best product on the market. I ordered this blow dryer because I had bought one recently, supposedly a powerful model, that proved itself to be a weakling when faced with my extremely thick, somewhat long hair. It was taking almost twice as long to dry as with my last dryer. I tend to burn hair dryers out in about a year; I don't know if there's any remedy to that. However, when I buy one, I want it to be powerful enough to dry my hair in about 15 minutes (no wonder I burn them out!). The only brand I've had luck with in terms of power is Conair. Many years ago, there was one other brand that was good, no longer available. I usually buy them at the beauty supply store since the ones at regular retailers are not powerful enough. Although I don't like this quite as well as the last Conair I bought, it is all I wanted in terms of power. It blows a strong stream of air and dries my hair fairly fast. The last Conair I bought was less like a salon model, so I'm hoping the motor will hold up in this one. At any rate, it does what I wanted. If you need a powerful dryer, this is recommended.

I am not totally used to it yet but the nicest thing about it is that the base is heavier enough to hold the hair dryer without turning over which is what a lot of them do -- I have heard. I have been using this hair dryer for about 9 months, in winter on a daily basis and summertime almost daily. It is compact, light, fast, and fairly quiet. It also seems to be less damaging than the other dryers I have tried. My only issue is the buttons are at an awkward angle, and even after nine months (and 15 years of regular hairdryer use) I am still hitting the temperature button accidentally. I read that this was a problem on different websites before I bought it and unfortunately ignored the reviews. Another word of warning for those of you with straight, thin hair, as I have...this hair dryer will not add any volume! On the contrary, it tends to flatten my hair more than it is, naturally. I think it would be better suited to those with naturally thick and wavy/curly hair that like to blowdry it straight...it leaves a smooth and shiny finish.

This is the second time I have bought this wall mount hair dryer. I was happy to find it again, because I already had the mounting brackets still on the wall. I bought this to combat dew on my telescope. I had been using a real hair dryer in my backyard where I have 120v power. When I head out to my dark site, I have no AC power, so this little guy was going to fill in. I have to say I am fairly dissapointed. I didnt expect 120V level of heat, but this thing barely warms up at all. It moves plenty of air, but it isn't really hot enough for removing dew, much less drying hair. Pros: Small Light Cons: Not enough Heat!

Replacement for the first one, which had the fan blade fly apart during use. Cheap plastic fan blade where metal would be much better. It was out of warranty, and because I took the case apart to check for the problem, they would neither fix it or sell me the part to repair it. Since I now have one for parts other than the fan, and the hair dryer fit so well where I had it hung, I went ahead and bought another one. It is a good design, but the quality could be better when it comes to that fan. No problem with anything else, just that cheap plastic fan blade, in my case anyway.

I have very, very curly hair that I get straightened, and also recently had a Brazilian keratin treatment done, too. I'm tell you all this because the keratin treatment is supposed to significantly reduce the drying time of your hair, and it does. So, while I did notice a shorter drying time with this dryer than with my other ones, it wasn't a really valid measure of how much better and faster it was, because any dryer is pretty fast for me now. I decided to use the dryer on my daughter's long, thick, wavy hair. The unit got to be a bit heavy - it wasn't noticeable for my hair because it was such a short drying time (7 minutes?) but not as bad as many other full sized dryers that I've used. This one is a smaller unit, but it is loud. It did successfully dry my daughter's long hair in 1/3-1/2 the usual time. And, her hair was shinier and softer than with a regular dryer. I am assuming that's from the tourmaline and/or ceramic as we used the same conditioner's we've always used. So, overall I'm pleased but I think the price tag is a bit much for a fairly heavy and loud dryer.

You will notice the quality of this product as soon as its out of the package. The plastic is thick and has some give to it, not like that cheap stuff that is hard and brittle. The motor is very tolerable. I would say it is quieter than most I've used. I like the three speeds as well as the three temps. That is so much better than just having one temp and a slower speed. It still has a cold shot to freeze your hair when you've got it where you want it. Great product!

I've owned one of these for over 3 years and can't rave about it enough. Have just purchased my second (an updated version with a new nozzle design). I have fairly thick, long, color-treated hair and can get a smooth frizz-free blowout in under 10 minutes. The price is steep but this dryer is light years away from anything you can pick-up in a department store. I've used it daily for 3+ years and the dryer has held up beautifully and the overall condition of my hair has improved drastically. It is now smooth, shiny and soft with no split ends or damage from heat drying. From what I understand you have to use the nozzle in order to get the conditioning benefits...somthing about baked minerals(?). I know, I know...when I tried to explain it to my husband he burst out laughing. What can I say? My hair never looked this good using the dinosaur-era dryers I owned in the past so there must be something to it. Highly recommend.

This is an excellent product. It dries my hair more quickly than conventional driers (I have A LOT of thick, curly hair) and it absolutely cuts down on the frizz. I had an earlier version of the Bio Ionic travel drier and loved it. I had it for years and evidently forgot how bad conventional driers were. The Bio Ionic eventually broke and, since the price had more than doubled in the years since I last purchased one, I just picked up something at the local drug store. I couldn't believe the difference. The resulting frizz was overwhelming. So I quickly came to Amazon to order a new Bio Ionic. I really like this dryer, .. it's quiet, fit's in my hand comfortably, w / good switch locations. It's a great quality dryer. HOWEVER, if you have baby fine hair, forget it! I read somewhere that ionic dryers are not good for fine hair because it makes the hair more Limp. So true. I wish I would have Remembered that. Everyone wants shiny, sleek hair, & that's ok if yours is not stick straight and fine baby. It seems 99.9% of ionic dryers are now. So I am on here today to buy a normal, non-ionic dryer. Like the one I had. So if you have a lot of hair,. This is a sensational dryer.

There were some complaints about this product on the flatness of the hood, and it has this problem. It covers just about the top of your ear. But if you wait, it gets warmer and the fan seems to be more powerful. So they sit for about 10 minutes, read a book and let it dry on the top roller and then the heat will make its way into the lower part of the head. I'm happy with it and the price.

I have this dryer about 1 1 / 2 years. It is now dead, because the hood is falling apart piece by piece. The adjustable part is also the mechanism when you close it. This is the part that falls apart. As someone said in another review, it is heated at the top, but overall, for what you spend, its what you get. One and a half years.

My wife has fibromyalgia and dense hair. Not a good combination when it comes to washing and drying are. I have this hair dryer mainly on the recommendation of their stylists as lighter than many other brands. It is unfortunately not. So there will be a gift. Probably it is a fabulous dryer, but they do to the weight, it was no longer for us.

The concept was good. I like the idea of hands free drying. But ... The technique was bad. Despite the large suction cup it went out of my mirror. I put them in the sink. It was the dryer and take the 6 foot mirror above my sink. Thought it was a Gonne but it turned out ok. I still keep them on the position, but they fall, so that if it falls it will not damage anything in its path. Perhaps if I could permanently attach to the wall!

funny name, good product

I did this for my wife, was not sure, because "just like on TV" products are often very "gimicky" ... but she loves it. A few women I have said about the gift, thought it was great too.

It is bulky and heavy, but that's a good sign that there is good and will be built. The sucker was big, but it has been once. Because of its size and weight, while she and pulls it from the mirror every time you are not an option, but it's a little scary out there all the time. (Hint, not including the somewhat expensive). (better Tip: Thoroughly clean the mirror and blo-and-go with alcohol before use.
I wish this came with the ability to attach to the wall with screws securly. The picture shows them to a wall or a door, but I highly doubt it could do that ... needs a totally clean surface such as glass.
Other than that, I'm satisfied.

terrible chemical smell

I have this Mimi's Diva Dryer by Aquis Microfiber Hair Towel changing. I opened the container and container in the towel and have a very strong chemical smell. It is really horrible (you can smell of feet away!) And I would not wrap my wet hair let alone near my mouth and nose.

Not for thick hair

If you're getting this because of the comb attachment, this is not the dryer for you. For those of us who have thick curly hair and actually need to use the comb attachment, you'll find yourself constantly having to re-start the dryer because of the high/off/lo switch being pushed. There is no way to hold this dryer while using the comb attachment that does not cause you to either toggle the switch or press the cool shot. Other than that annoyance though, it worked well.

This is the 1st item I've returned to Amazon. I hated this dryer!!!. The "cool" shot button only cooled the temperature to what would be considered "medium" on any other hair dryer. There is no other temperature adjustment on this dryer. Without using the cool shot button the temperature was VERY hot and damaged my newly chemically processed hair.

The only good thing was Amazon was great with the return process!

am in the market for a fabulous dryer for my natural african-american hair. I have heard rave reviews about the T3, which my stylist uses. However, the concerns regarding whether the manufacturer will honor the warranty if you buy from Amazon turned me off. I noticed that there were mixed postings however on whether the manufacturer will or will not honor the warranty. So, after hunting around on Amazon, I realized that there are two manufacturers selling the T3 on Amazon, with a significant price difference: Beauty Collection and Discount Jungle. Beauty Collection specifically states in its warranty description that it will honor the 48 month manufacturer. I plan to buy the dryer, but read the product description before you buy and decide whether the difference in price is worth buying with the warranty.

Good, but no attachments

As a kid, my mom went through attachments like a kid went through candy, especially when it was my hair. This was my first hair dryer, and while I didn't feel intimidated by it (unlike the "gun-style" dryers), I could never find any attachments for it in the stores. It was no big deal when I broke my first one, because I didn't use it all that much, but when I broke the fine-toothed one, it lost half its use for me. I couldn't even find any on the Andis site. I submitted an inquiry and am hoping for a response, but the only reason this isn't a five star is the lack of attachments.

No fiddling with on off buttons and looking for a place to store it.

If one leaves the on switch ON and hangs it up, it goes off and returns to the blowing setting as soon as one lifts it again. This is great. on a scale of 1-10 This item scores 11.

10 years use, almost to the day!

I am buying my second Andis wall mount hair dryer and wanted to say that the one I have has certainly done well with daily use since February 2nd, 1999--almost ten years ago. When it quit it quit, though--just stopped and never worked again. So, I finished my hair with another dryer and thought about how much nicer it is to have one on the wall!

Another reviewer commented on the difficulty of removing it from the wall mount plate. On mine there is a plastic screw type device under the dryer that holds the plastic housing firmly to the metal wall mount. That screw is very easy to turn and remove. If you don't see that you would have problems. If you buy a replacement to match the original, you can use the same wall mount.
Any extra cord after it is plugged in, wraps inside the plastic casing. So, if you have an electrical outlet close to the dryer, it looks as though it is hard-wired because no cord is showing. I didn't find any hard-wired versions when I bought mine, so I had a two receptacle outlet placed close, just for that purpose. It has been handy to have it.
I was very happy with this dryer and am anxious to get a new one and get going on another ten years with it!

I bought the Conair Pro Style 1875 dryer about 6 months ago.
I rarely used it, but lately since I've been trying to save money, I've started to do my own hair at home.
That is when I discovered that this dryer was just a waste of space in the top of my closet.
It barely dries my hair, but it will burn a hole in at the top of my scalp! I am constantly moving my head left to right so that the heat can touch every side of my hair all while running my fingers through so the heat can get to the inside of the hair. It's just too much work done on my part!...and that's not the worst part
The dryer is CONSTANTLY COLLAPSING on my head!! Not once, not twice, but all the time I'm under the dryer. So while i'm twisting my head and separating my hair with one hand, i'm holding the bonnet up with the other.

This is the first time in 20 years that I have bought a hair dryer. And I have never spent more than $20, on them! Now I GET it! Wow. What a difference a high end professional tool makes. This is a beautiful hair dryer. It is substantial, a gorgeous color and even has a rubber bumper to protect it and your counter tops. It's a very sleek Italian design and the power is amazing. My drying time went from 20 minutes with a regular cheapo dryer - same 1875 wattage - to FOUR minutes with this dryer. Great dryer. Now I am buying one for my mom, who has to have the thickest hair on the planet. I would NOT get this dryer for thin hair - but for really thick hair this would be a great choice. I like this hairdryer--and it came in mint condition even though I got a reconditioned product. I have to say that I'm glad I got the discounted version, because I'm really not sure why this product would cost over $100. Again, it's a good hairdryer--quiet, gentle--but I didn't notice any difference in drying time or the appearance of my hair. That said, I'm hoping it will last longer than my store-bought hairdryers, which generally die after 8 months or so. If it does, it's probably worth the extra cost.

Love this hairdryer. Works great. I have heavy long curly hair and it takes a long time to dry and straighten. This dryer shortens the drying time and the nozzle stays on whereas my old dryer the nozzle would fall off because it loosened halfway through the drying time. Note there is a voltage selector (for 250 vs. 120 volts). In the 120 mode, you will not be able to use HIGH mode, but HIGH appears to work fine if you do not toggle the switch.

I don't normally use a dryer in warmer weather, so though I bought this dryer about a year ago, I got maybe 6 months' use out of it at best. I've been buying Conair dryers since I was a teenager and they always worked for *at least* a few years. I'll try another brand next time, though I'm not too optimistic that any of them are much good. I only wish I could find one that doesn't have the clunky 'Appliance Leakage Circuit Interrupter' type of plug because I think that's what generally fails with today's dryers.

I had trouble getting this to fit on my head. It seemed small, even though I don't have a huge head. Twisting it and getting the button attached were a hassle. I'd be tempted to think it was my own lack of coordination, but I have no problems with the Twisty Towels I got at Bed Bath and Beyond. Also, the Twisty Towels were cheaper, and the fabric was just as nice.

This wrap does dry your hair fast. The fabric is nice and looks like a regular towel. However, the instructions say to twist, twist, twist! your hair in the wrap then fasten the loop over the button closure behind your head. Impossible! The wrap would not nearly cover my head if I did this. Also, when twisting, the button goes all askew and I have to recenter it in order to fasten it. To fasten I can barley turn it just 1/4th a turn (just enough to hold my hair). This wouldn't exactly dry my hair if I didn't use it to remove excess moisture from my hair first, and it is too short to cover the front of my crown, no matter what I do.

I do have long hair, maybe thats why.

Another thing, the button started to come off in 2 days.

If you have short hair, and are not a button abuser, this would probably be a solid product for you.

I just didn't know such a simple thing could make life more complicated.

I purchased the Andis 30975/hd-10l 1600w - I bought this unit for the convenience of not taking the dryer from under the counter day after day or having it sit on my counter were it shouldn't be, it hangs on the wall for easy use. I like the night light, could be a little brighter but it is bright enough to see without using other lighting. The only 2 things I would consider changing is the watts and the air flow of the unit, The heat temperature and the air flow is very suttle, it is not as hot or the air flow is not as powerfull as I expected, if you have heavy hair it would take a long time to dry, if you have thin hair which I do have it's perfect, no chance of you burning yourself. Overall, I do like the unit and would recommend it.

I really have to giggle at the claim that this dries hair from the inside out. How can it do that? And the current product dimensions says 2.6 ounces. That is an error. It weighs over 2 pounds.
Now for the good stuff. It isn't quiet, but it's quieter than other blow dryers I've owned. There isn't anything amazing or magical about it except the design. It's a bit more compact than my old dryer, and the handle is great. This dryer is so easy to hold and aim. All the other blow dryers I've owned felt clunky. This feels like an extension of my arm. You know how sometimes you have those days when you go to spray your hair, and you wind up spraying the bathroom door? It's like that with blow dryers, too, let's face it. I don't have that problem with this baby. I actually *don't mind* having to dry my hair! Since I can really get it pointed in the right direction, I can get my hair dry faster. I noticed this difference in the grip as soon as I took it out of the box. Also, my arms don't get as tired with my BaByliss.
The cool shot really is a cool shot. Takes a second or two vs fifteen for it to get really cool.
Ceramic heat? Who really cares about that? It's a great blow dryer. Period.
I would definitely recommend this to a friend. I may even buy one for my hairdresser :)

I purchased this based on the good reviews it received. I used it twice, it worked great, cut my drying time in half. It is heavier than any other hair dryer I have had, but due to the decreased drying time...I decided to overlook the weight. Then, for the third time out of the drawer I was drying my 4 y/o daughters hair. Thank God I was drying the back of her head, because after about 30 seconds it made a very loud pop & shot out sparks that hit her in the back of the neck. It burned her, did not leave a large mark but again thank God we weren't drying the front of her hair -it might have hit her in the eyes instead!

I have to admit, I really wanted this to be a good review. Now on my second Andis RC-2, there's no way that's possible without a serious caveat factored in.
My first unit was purchased in April, before traveling to China for two weeks. It overheated the first day (in spite of the proper converter and adapter), so it didn't get used again until returning to the states. For seven months, it ran great---so great that I took it out of the carry on and began using it in place of my usual blow dryer. Then, POOF! One day, it just quit. The motor hums, but that's all.
In December, I decided to buy another one for my carry on---same make and model, figuring the first one died early because of the China experience. Imagine my surprise when the new one worked exactly five times...then quit. Same problem. The motor makes a quiet humming sound, but that's it.
Maybe it's unrealistic, but I believe a blow dryer should work for more than a few months, especially if the first four months' worth of use are limited to time on the road. It's a nice little dryer when it works, but my experience has been that "when it works" can be iffy at best.
Sorry to have such a negative experience to share. Now...back to looking for a new dryer.....

This dryer's retractable cord is wonderful for keeping clutter out of the bathroom or wherever you store your dryer when not in use. The heat settings are high-medium-low, plus there's a cool button for a shot of cool air when you're styling. But what I like best is the low setting which is fantastic for my fine hair. It's warm enough to dry the hair but minimizes the stress and damage that the heat of most dryers inflicts. Word to the wise to prolong the life of the cord, it's easy enough to quide it gently with the other hand when you press the retract button - keeps it from snaping back. Overall an excellent choice for an all-purpose dryer and the price can't be beat.

When we tried to register the warranty, the company refused because a silver serial number tag on the power cord was missing -- and they said it was missing because Amazon tampered with the product. No kidding! We don't believe for a second that Amazon would ever do anything like this. What we suspect, but don't know, is that the manufacturer, T3 Micro, Inc., is protecting its full-price vendors. As to the blower, what you're getting for roughly half price is a pretty good unit. It is very light and comfortable, but controls are limited. There are two fan speeds, but no heat settings. There is a cool air switch. All in all, it does a very nice job -- and on low speed, it is especially quiet. Despite the warranty situation, we decided to keep the blower. We would have given the blower itself three stars, maybe four, but the warranty matter was very disturbing.

A friend of mine had gotten this blow dryer a few years back and raved about it.... I thought it was insane to pay that price for a blow dryer..
It works! It's amazing. There's a SIGNIFICANT improvement in the texture of my hair.... I am naturally probably the darkest shade of very fine blond on the color swatch and I have almost always colored my hair platinum... As you can imagine, my hair is very fragile. The difference in the way my hair looks and feels after I use the T3 is remarkable.
The volume of the blow dryer is very low. It feels as though it's not pushing out as much power, but it is... it's just quieter about it. :)
The only problem I have with this product is that the On/Off switch is right on the shaft where your hand belongs so it is accidentally turned on and off very easily. That is annoying.
Anyways, I highly recommend it. I did my Blow Dryer Research before buying this, and everything indicated that this is the best one on the market. Agreed.

Customer Review: Good product, but care needed with power cord

I purchased this dryer about 3-4 years ago. I have very long hair (below my waist) and it worked just fine for me. The ion feature makes a huge difference in the condition of my hair. Less frizz and less tangling.

The other day I was putting it away and noticed a crack in the cord's plastic insulation. When I flexed the cord (after it was unplugged) at the crack the insulation completely separated exposing the wires. Further inspection showed cracks in the insulation every where the cord had been bent when stored.

Normally we are very careful to stow appliance cords by folding (accordian style) and using velcro to hold in place. For my new hair dryer I will be less fastidious with the cord storage!

You probably should inspect the cord before every use to make sure the insulation is not cracked. It could have caused a fire, electric shock, or worse.
